Welcome to the web home of Ritzina Afghan Hounds, we are Maurice and Tania Ryall

Ritzina afghans - the beginning...

Tania has been involved with afghan hounds since she was 15. She writes, 'I remember seeing my first afghan at Crufts, the famous Viscount Grant took top honours that year. My first afghan came in 1990, it was supposed to be a family member but I took her as mine and mine alone! A little brindle girl we called Tiffany, she became 'my dog'. I remember that I wanted to show her but sadly, was not in the postion to do so extensively at that time so started off with local exemption shows. To me this was great, we went to the shows and we had successes and failures but I was hooked. I loved every minute and so did Tiff. I knew from my first afghan that I would always have one.

Ritzina afghans part two - The next stage...

Tania writes, 'I got married to Maurice in 1996, where I slowly wore him down into letting me have an afghan to show 'properly' at open and championship shows. In 1998 I succeeded! Along came 'Mac' and 'Harry' (I know I said one afghan but what can you do!) I liked the silver boy and Maurice liked the gold so they both came home together. This was the beginning of Ritzina afghans

Ritzina Afghans - after the beginning...

After our beginning our afghan family grew and grew. Move along to the next page (our dogs) to continue with the tale...
